Install flaired end of muffler into end of header first (note: exhaust flow direction is with the inside louvers, not against). The end ring fits snug and flush with the end of the collector. Sometimes the end ring needs to be filed to slide all the way in.

Straight Collector - Measure one inch in from the end and drill 5/16" hole through side of collector and one side of muffler. Install bolt and two nuts (jam nut). This will prevent loosening of bolt from vibration.

Bell-End Collector - Slide muffler in until snug. Measure from the end of the collector to the end of the muffler and add one inch, drill a 5/16" hole, bolt and double nut.

Note: Drill holes in side of collector instead of bottom to prevent water from dripping on transom.
